Getting into marketing mode, I decided to film a scene from my novel, “The Accordo.” The short film is called, “Norman’s in Love.” Ryan Brewer signed on as cinematographer, and I hired professional actor, Micky Shiloah, from LA to bring my strange, egocentric character to life. Husband, Chuck, helped build a set (drywall, molding, nails, paint . . . the whole nine yards) in a large room in our house. How many husbands would do that? Chuck also played the security guard in the scene.
I never thought I’d try to produce my own film, but that’s what I’ve done and it has been an eye-opening experience. I’m excited for the rough footage to be turned into something fun to watch. The film will debut at the upcoming 2015 Horror Book Fest my marketing collaborator/fellow horror author, Michael Raff, and I are presenting October 3, 2015 at the Courtyard Marriot in Hesperia, California. Check out www.horrorbookfest.com to learn more about that.
