My three-year-old granddaughter Sophie was at our house over the weekend. While playing in the backyard she picked a dandelion from our lawn and gave it to me. I told her I would make a wish on it. Of course, my wish had to do with book sales, but I didn't say a word to her. I made my wish and blew on the yellow flower as if it were a candle. Then I asked Sophie, "Do you think my wish will come true?"
She didn't say yes and she didn't say no. She said, "Books." As she turned away I asked her why she said that, but she made no reply.
I think she was reading my mind.
